A lot of hate in the market place—

Hey Believers—

I wanted to bring to your attention a Kickstarter campaign that I, as a designer, FULLY ENDORSE.

If you’ve got some extra cash or room for an additional board game, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND checking out “Money Buns.”

MB is off to a hot start, but I think we need to keep those embers warm and help the campaign because her game looks amazing!

The designer for the game is a Santa Monica native named Christina Scamporrino, who has been targeted by some really mean board gamers who are trying to ruin her marketing efforts to be a successful creative entrepreneur like myself.

If you’d like a more family friendly version of my game, Crypto Cartel, for $10 less, then head on over here—

None of this is easy, people. And some big game publishers are trying to bully new designers like myself and Christina in the market, when they simply have no precedent to do so.

They make claims that our games are rip-offs or reskins and that there’s no place for it.

But it’s OK for Cards Against Humanity to exist...

If you’ve got a dollar to spare, please go there!

I don’t like Market Bullies.

Happy 2019!!

Believers—

It’s been a while! I haven’t forgotten about you.

Now that I’ve survived the business of multiple holidays, I can more freely communicate with all of you!

What has happened since the campaign: - Allan redesigned the back of the Silk Road Deck so that it is more differentiable from the Main Deck; - Slight tweaks in the rulebook (considering a solo player option)

I’m also consolidating questionnaires from the people who paid to be characters.

I’m really excited about what’s happened thus far. I’m looking forward to handing everything over to the manufacturer.

If you have any questions feel free to hit me up at [email protected]

WonderCon was a success!
over 4 years ago – Fri, Aug 30, 2019 at 05:17:23 AM

Yesterday we successfully revealed the character artwork that some of our very special backers selected during Crypto Cartel’s Kickstarter campaign back in October!

We had a pretty good turnout - and we even had Jennifer Marshall (“Stranger Things,” “Hawaii Five-0,” “Colony”) reveal the artwork!

It was a fun and busy day! A day that ended with all of us playing “Crypto Cartel”! 🙂

Special thanks to Jennifer Marshall for the presentation, Manuel Martinez for the artwork as well as Kevin Foutz and Tiffany Boston for showing up to support the effort!

And an extra special thanks to my wife, Kate, for showing up to help!

March 2019

Hey everyone—

(For more active updates, please go to my social media platforms: - www.facebook.com/cryptocartelgame - Twitter.com/cryptocartelg - www.instagram.com/cryptocartelgame - www.minds.com/andythegamemaker)

I haven’t updated you all since January, but to bring you to speed:

1) Needed to widen the box to accommodate the dimensions of the cards made by the manufacturer. We accomplished this about two weeks ago. The manufacturer has started to make the mold as of a week ago. (Plastic injection molds take about 8-10 weeks to make.)

2) Needed to adjust the artwork to accommodate the borders of printer for the cards. It was questionable as to whether or not the originally submitted dimensions of the cards would be appropriate for printing and cutting. Rather than sacrifice quality in the product, we took the time to make the adjustments. Everyone will be pleased by the effort.

3) WonderCon is right around the corner. Unfortunately, WonderCon is no longer selling tickets for Saturday. (This is as of 20 March.) You can try Craigslist or other websites, but do so at your own risk. There’s no way to confirm vendors. If you do so, I strongly recommend badge resellers attempt to do so through the WonderCon registration portal. I believe there is a way to do that. More to follow on that later.

Thanks for the patience and support! I look forward to getting you a quality product!

2019 "Crypto Cartel" Update #2
over 4 years ago – Fri, Aug 30, 2019 at 05:16:43 AM

"Farmers" Character - "Crypto Cartel" Comic Series
"Farmers" Character - "Crypto Cartel" Comic Series

FIRST.... delays--

Part of the disruption in the communication resulted from the fact that we ran into issues during manufacturing. More specifically -- when we ran into issues with the plastic injection mold.

It takes months to accurately dial in the plastic injection mold, and by the time we found out that our original source for the mold couldn't do it as promised a lot of time had already passed during the development process.

The good news is that the other company was quickly replaced and the NEW mold is being made as we speak. By the time the new mold is complete (by the end of this month), I will quality inspect what should be the final product and if all is well we will mass produce the game!

I didn't want to completely communicate the problem as soon as I discovered it because I didn't have an adequate solution in place to overcome the obstacle.

Now that we have solved the problem, I can communicate with everyone what has been happening.

Updated Timeline:

Here is a timeline so you know what to expect in the coming months:

June 2019:

  • (End of June) Plastic Mold Complete
    • Final Quality Inspection of the Product
    • Shipping Confirmation Info sent out to each backer by email

July 2019:

  • Mass Production begins for Container style box
  • Games Packed, Wrapped, Shipped by sea to my home in Southern California

October 2019:

  • Games arrive at my home
  • Shipped out to the backers

October 2019 is the new targeted date. Feel free to hit me up with questions.

I just wanted to also take a moment to express my sincerest apologies for the delay in the arrival of the games to my backers. I assure you, no one is more frustrated than I. I originally planned on getting the game to your doorstep before my promised date of June 2019, but that obviously didn't happen.

REVEALING MORE ARTWORK!

Remember Jennifer Marshall from "Stranger Things"?

As promised, we turned her into the main comic book character for the "Crypto Cartel" comic series.

She received the artwork in the mail and she will be revealing it on her Instagram account. Check out her IG account @Jenn13Jenn13. She should be posting it soon.

Thanks for being patient with all of this! I couldn't have gone this far without any of you! Please feel free to reach out to me for any questions you might have.
