2019 "Crypto Cartel" Update #3
over 4 years ago – Fri, Aug 30, 2019 at 05:15:54 AM

Hey everyone--

So I have an additional update for "Crypto Cartel" and this is in addition to the update I sent by email earlier this week.

But first, to ensure you're being hit up on ALL communication channels, please click the links below to sign up for my email list and my social media channels.

I ask that you do this to ensure you get your orders without any further delays. This has taken a MUCH longer time than anticipated. Believe me when I say that no one wants you to have your copy of your game more than me -- largely because you all have been incredibly patient and deserve to have this game that I have worked so hard to have ready for you all. None of this could have happened without your support: I am indebted to all of you.

The following images are NOT the product itself, but test runs with the mold maker.

(Having said that, we are VERY close to heading into production. I still have to physically inspect the final product, which requires for them to ship me out a copy of the game completely packaged and everything -- that will take about 2-3 weeks for shipping; BUT once that is done it will take a week to make every production mold for the game.)

You'll notice that the shell is blue and the lid is white. THOSE ARE NOT THE FINAL COLORS OF THE BOX. THE BOX YOU WILL BE RECEIVING WILL BE AS PROMOTED FROM THE KICKSTARTER CAMPAIGN.

As Dr. Steve Brule likes to say: "Cherry Red!"

I'm in disbelief this is coming together. This is all very surreal to me.

Here some images of the game that was sent to me as well.

In the photo, you can see a few things:

  • The Rulebook (Very Front)
  • The Stretch Goal Cards (Far Left)
  • The Silk Road Deck (Left-Middle)
  • The Main Deck (Right-Middle, Right)
  • The Game Label

SILK ROAD DECKS: NEW & OLD
So I had to make a design change along the way, and this was based on some feedback I received from some people along the way. If you'll take note of the background design on the original Silk Road deck, you'll notice that it's hard to make out the red font on the black background. Several people spotted this during play testing of my game, at which point I decided that I had to change that; which is how we ended up with the background on the left.

I actually like the newer design -- it almost has a more elegant flair to the design, compared to the previous design.

What do you think about the new design?

STRETCH GOAL CARDS
Here is a quick look at the Stretch Goal cards that were unlocked during the campaign that all of my backers who purchased a copy of the game will be receiving.

"CRYPTO CARTEL" GAME RULEBOOK
Quick shout out to Dustin Staats for all the exceptional work he did on this rulebook. He and I both went back and forth several times over the course of several months refining this thing down so that it would be palatable for all of you so that you could understand how to play. His hard work with the design helped bring this game to life.
Well done, Dustin!

GAME PACKAGING LABEL
I'm glad I added this to the game. The box itself looks great, but I think you're all going to LOVE seeing the game come with this label.

Additionally, it's not just a label for exceptional presentation purposes, but also a sticker (as visually noticeable in the photo below!)

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT
I can't continue to thank you for your support throughout this challenging process.

I assure you that my counterparts overseas and I are working very hard as part of a unified effort to create as high quality of a game as possible for you and your friends to truly enjoy.

This has been painstakingly longer than expected, but I promise you that you'll be pleased with the end result.
